Pure elegance – Four Seasons Milan

If you are looking for a hotel that combines history, elegance and serenity right in the centre of one of Europe’s busiest capital cities, the Four Seasons Hotel in Milan is the place to be.
A former convent built in the 15th century, it is now an oasis of tranquillity in the middle of the „Quadrilatero della Moda“, the famous district of fashion. The combination of classical historical elements (large parts of the original convent, such as vaults and frescoes are still preserved) with touches of modern design creates a unique atmosphere. A place where you can relax and unwind, despite being in one of the liveliest areas of Milan.
The moment you leave the Via Gesú and enter through the Four Seasons‘ elegant doors, you feel transported in a whole new world. All senses immediately react to the delicate and pleasant colours of the furniture, the amazing pink orchids, the wonderful flowery smell (which comes from Culti room scents) and the airy sound of joyful conversations.
As in all Four Season hotels, the service is no less than exceptional. Everyone from the staff is super attentive and they will remember your preferences and wishes right from the beginning.
The wonderful building of the Four Seasons is divided into an ancient, classical part and into a new building, whose design is inspired by typical Milanese houses and, of course, the world of fashion. We were lucky enough to stay in a gorgeous executive suite with a nice spacious living area, a big bedroom and luxurious marble bathroom. You can tell that the rooms have been designed with a meticulous attention to detail. They are elegant, but extremely cozy at the same time and I loved that we got two bouquets of fresh flowers every day!
Should you decide to leave the comfort of your room, the possibilities and things to do are endless! Most of Milan’s monuments and museums are just a short walk or taxi ride away and the same goes for all the designer boutiques in Via Montenapoleone, Via Sant’Andrea and via Manzoni. I could basically shop for days here!! To recover after your shopping or sightseeing tour, you can either enjoy a delicious cocktail in the wonderful garden of the hotel or have a massage at the spa.
The courtyard was formerly a garden where the nuns grew herbs and greens. Today it is a sanctury of tranquillity where you can escape the heat and chaos outside the walls of the Four Seasons. During summer, this is where they serve a delicious á la carte breakfast (try the eggs benedict and the pancakes – yummy!!!). But you can also have a nice lunch, aperitivo or dinner by the restaurant La Veranda. The cuisine is Italian with an international touch. As my boyfriend turned 30 while we were staying there, the staff were so kind as to prepare an amazingly opulent caramel cheesecake for his birthday as a surprise. Thanks again for that – it might just have been the best cheesecake we ever had 🙂
Verdict: I would recommend this hotel 100%. When staying in a city as busy as Milan, you need a place peaceful like this to keep your balance. Plus, the service was excellent!
Lots of love,
