Pool days at Caprice Alcudia

as you might have seen on my Instagram, last week I was in Mallorca for the first time – and I loved it! Once you avoid the party scene, the island can be extremely peaceful and relaxing.
As it is the biggest of the Balearic Islands, I would suggest to rent a car right at the airport, so you’ll be free to explore without having to rely on taxis. We rented one wiht Record Go, which I can totally recommend (everything was fast and easy and the car was in very good condition).
From the airport to Alcudia (which is in the north-east part of the island) it is a 50 minute drive. We decided to make a little 20 minute detour and visit the beautiful village of Valldemossa on the way. The old village is located in the hills and is absolutely charming with its winding streets, churches, cute shops and restaurants and an absolutely romantic atmosphere.
Our second stop was the Caprice Alcudia Port, a modern 5 star hotel close to the port of Alcudia and just about 100m away from the beach. The hotel is based on a unique leisure concept, which can be summarized by the word „Loxury“: a blend between authentic local charm and the luxury of discovering it. In this new concept, sustainability and the integration with the environment play a very important role, which is why the hotel was built using state-of-the-art materials and sustainable techniques.
What we immediately loved about this hotel was its chic and sleek design. Our suite was located on the second floor, with two balconies and a nice view on the garden and pool below. After having been greeted with by the hotel with little snacks by the chef and cold drinks, our first stop was the spa. After enjoying a massage on the „senso bed“ (a bed with boiling water inside, which helps releasing any tension in your muscles), we tried out the steam room and sauna and had a swim in the indoor pool. The hotel also has to offer a well equipped gym and various treatments and massages.
Our highlight was the outside area, though. We loved chilling in one of the beautiful hammocks in the garden or on the sun deck and have a fruity cocktail by the pool 🙂 Just a short ride from Caprice, there are many breathtaking beaches to discover. Our favourite was Platja de Formentor!! It is super easy to reach and there’s a parking lot right behind it, which is very convenient. You can then choose to rent day beds at the serviced beach or just walk past it and find a nice spot on the public beach. We decided to walk on for a bit, until we found a less crowded area, where we basically had everything to ourselves. The sand was white and soft, the water crystal clear…just like on the Maldives, except we didn’t have to fly that far 😉 And if you get hungry or want a cold drink, there’s the terrace of the Royal Formentor Hotel near by.
Caprice Alcudia is also in a perfect location to explore other great coves and beaches near by, as well as the charming old town of Alcudia.
So if you’re planning a trip to Mallorca, make sure to visit 🙂
Lots of love,
